Over his career, John has sold thousands of pre-construction units and executed development projects worth in excess of $1 billion. He now leverages his deep residential experience identifying and developing high potential real estate projects.

With more than 20 years of extensive commercial retail experience, Sam has a keen eye for identifying up-and-coming real estate opportunities. Big on market research and understanding buyer demand, Sam has a strong track record of building and developing successful retail businesses.

Diane Bertolin is a partner of Alliance United. As a licensed mortgage broker, her passion for real estate can be traced back to her role as a licence commissioner for the City of Windsor and the extensive experience she gained managing complex stakeholder relationships and brokering consensus among government and industry groups.

VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

Greg obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2000, while working at Deloitte in Toronto. During his 8 years at Deloitte, Greg worked in both Audit and Corporate Finance, where he focused on buy-side advisory services, on deal sizes ranging between $10 million and $8 billion.

Since 2005, Greg has held a variety of finance and accounting positions with public and private companies, in areas including corporate travel management, environmental, construction, and private equity.

Most recently, Greg was the Chief Financial Officer at Rosseau Development Corporation. He now leads the finance and accounting teams at Red Pine Canopy Ltd and Alliance United Corp.

Greg obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario in 1995, and completed the Graduate program in Public Accountancy at McGill University in 1997.

CONTROLLER

Owais Pasha is the Controller at Alliance United Corporation and its associated portfolio of real estate assets and investments at Red Pine Canopy. He is responsible for coordinating accounting operational functions, reporting financial data, overseeing regulatory compliance and internal controls systems. Joined in 2021, he brings over twelve years of experience in finance and accounting to this role.

Prior to joining Alliance United, Mr. Pasha was a senior consultant with several real estate investment firms in Canada; Brookfield Asset Management (TSX: BAM.A), Starlight Investments (TSX:TN.UN), and other multifamily investment firms.

His international experience includes his role as a Finance Director at Bridgestone Tires – KSA, for kingdom-wide financial oversight of its distribution network and real estate footprint with its equity stores, where he was also a member of the management committee driving strategic initiatives and mergers and acquisitions.

Between 2015 and 2017, Mr. Pasha served in a senior corporate development and management role, leading financial reporting and projections, unified policies and procedures and investment appraisals for over $3 Billions assets invested in Real Estate, Automotive, Food & Beverage, Education, Healthcare, Beauty & Fragrances and Energy sectors for one of the largest conglomerates in the Middle East and North Africa, Americas, and Europe region.

Previously, Mr. Pasha managed Audit and Assurance clients for six years at Ernst & Young Global Limited (EY). Mr. Pasha holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and is also a fellowship member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and obtained Bachelor of Science (Honours) in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom.

PROJECT MANAGER

Calvin McCourt has over 30 years of real estate development experience working with Starlight Investments, Morguard, PenEquity, Bentall Kennedy and Canadian Equity and Development Corporation. Calvin has extensive experience with commercial, industrial and residential development projects well in excess of a billion dollars over the years. He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Honours) and has received a Planning Certificate from the Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England.

ANALYST

Alex joined Red Pine Canopy/Alliance United team as an Analyst in 2021. Prior to joining Red Pine, Alex worked at various boutique construction companies and engineering firms, where he developed hands-on experience in construction, project management, operations, finance, and sales. As an analyst at Red Pine, Alex leverages these skills to implement and execute our value-add strategy.

Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal. At JMSB, Alex specialized in finance and real estate, and graduated with honors.
